If music is indeed the spice of life, then the ability to speak the language of music is a critical part of any language, no less Lithuanian. I recently learned some of this ‘language of music’ in Lithuanian over a lively discussion about some of this era’s greatest and classic musicians such as The Backstreet Boys, Emma Bunton, S Club 7, Spice Girls, Wham, and many more!
Here’s what I’ve learned so far:
Klausausi muzikos
I am Listening to music (p.s. Thanks to Rusne for catching this!)
Kokios grupes tau patinka?
What bands do you like?
Ko tu megsti klausytis?
What do you like listening to?
About boy/girl bands
As dievinu Backstreet Boys/Emma Bunton
I love Backstreet Boys/Emma Bunton!
NSync yra pati geriausia grupe pasaulyje
Nsync is the best group in the world!
Nick iš BSB turi nuostabius plaukus
Nick from Backstreet boys has beautiful hair!
Kuris grupes narys yra karsciausias?
Which band member is the hottest?
Any ‘pearls of wisdom’ on how exactly to discuss music in more detail would be appreciated! Plus I’m sure there are some mistakes there so catch them if you can!
Iki!
this is insane XD i swear to god its my first time then i see someone trying to learn lithuanian so desperately =D pretty much every lt girl knows english, well, they might not be very fluent in it, but still.. by the way, lithuanian is one of the most difficul languages ever, youll see;)
“Klausausi muzikos” doesn’t mean listening to music in general. It means “I am listening to music”.
))
I believe, Lithuanian is one of the most archaic languages that are still in use. I hope that you know what you are doing and have a lot of determination
Good luck!:)
Merginos, lietuvių kalba ne tokia jau sunki. Sakyčiau, vidutinio sunkumo
.
Jei tai nera tavo gimtoji kalba, o nori sneketi tasiyklingai, tai tikrai labai labai labai sunki. Pagalvok apie veiksmazodziu skirtingus laikus, skirtingus asmenis, daiktavardziu, budvardziu linksniavima, ivardziuotines formas…brr…
Mokinys, the best way to learn a language is to listen (in this case to read) native speakers talking
)
Very Good
I think it’s quite difficult to learn one of oldest languages… Of course it had a lot of changes but you are brave if you try. Some phrases are really useful but just in family, more phrases which is use in conversations, meeting new people, for example:
“Koks tavo vardas?” – “What is your name?”
“Kur man rasti kavine/restorana?” – “Where I can find cafe/restaurant?”
“Kiek tau metu?” – “How old are you?”
Also, if you want, I can sent you a dictionary Lithuanian-English, English-Lithuanian, you just have to sent me an email, o contact in SKYPE
Good luck
you seem not to be using lithuanian letters like ą;ę;č;ė;į;š;ų;ū and ž
